Health Sciences North (HSN) is an academic health sciences centre affiliated with the Health Sciences North Research Institute and the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. HSN ranks among Canada’s Top 40 hospitals and is a regional resource and referral centre for over 600,000 residents across northeastern Ontario. We are a 462 bed hospital with over 3,900 employees, and over 500 physicians.
Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive you will serve as the Administrative Director, Care Transitions, Patient Flow and Utilization, to provide leadership for teams focused on corporate strategies including but not limited to utilization and transition management. You will be accountable to direct and oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of short and long-term plans, goals, and objectives that reflect the strategic direction and academic mission of HSN and respond to the needs of the organization and community related to patient flow. You will work toward achieving national and provincial performance targets as identified in the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP). You will work collaboratively to execute strategic outcomes related to care transitions and patient flow that include engagement with community partners and health care teams to develop innovative strategies to address challenges in managing hospital capacity and enhancing community services to ensure quality and performance goals are met. 
The successful candidate should have a minimum of a four (4) year Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent, from an accredited university. A Master’s Degree or actively pursuing a Master’s in a health care discipline is preferred. A current Certificate of Registration in good standing as a Health Professional from a regulatory college or association is required. We are seeking a minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in a leadership/supervisory or senior clinical position, preferably in a health care environment. Clinical experience as a Regulated Health Professional, experience working with individual physicians and physician groups, and training or recent experience with financial management and budget development is required.
