Personal Support Worker

  • Four (4) Permanent Full Time
  • Eight (8) Permanent Part Time


Reporting to the Manager, Inpatient and Rehabilitation Services, and under the direction of nursing staff, the Personal Support Worker will assist registered staff with patient care. These duties include assisting patients with repositioning, ambulating and transferring, following individualized care plans, and operating various assistive devices. This position also supports the effective operations of patient care areas by answering telephones, restocking supply carts, responding efficiently to call bells, and assisting the team with patient care as requested.

You possess your Personal Support Worker certificate from an Ontario College or have received this from an Accredited Personal Support Worker Educational Program. You are currently certified in Basic Life Support, Fire Safety Training and WHMIS Training.

Your knowledge and experience in patient care is complimented by your excellent interpersonal communication skills and your ability to work as a team member. You are able to organize tasks efficiently, effectively and safely through your superb problem-solving, decision-making and critical thinking skills.

As a condition of employment, external hires are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the Hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety department.
