SJGHEL is seeking a dynamic and hands on Manager, Patient Care Clinical Services to join our leadership team! Reporting to the Director, Clinical Services, this leadership role is responsible for the operational leadership, clinical quality, and advancement of care across the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Infection Prevention and Control, and Allied Health services.

 

This is a highly visible and impactful leadership role, responsible for ensuring safe, high quality, patient and family centered care while supporting teams in a complex and evolving clinical environment. The Manager will lead quality improvement initiatives, strengthen patient flow and access to care, and work closely with interdisciplinary teams and physicians to enhance service delivery and clinical outcomes.

 

The ideal candidate brings a strong clinical foundation in emergency and/or critical care, along with demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare setting. They are a collaborative and approachable leader who can engage teams, build trust, and lead through change with confidence and clarity. This role requires the ability to balance day to day operational demands with longer term planning, while advancing key priorities such as ICU model of care, emergency preparedness, infection prevention, and allied health service development.

 

This position also plays an important role in strengthening partnerships across the region, working with Ontario Health, Critical Care Services Ontario, and other system partners to support integrated care, patient flow, and access to specialized services.

 

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in a healthcare discipline and be a regulated health professional in good standing with a relevant regulatory body. They will also have a minimum of five years of progressive clinical experience, including two to three years in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably within a unionized healthcare environment. Candidates from a variety of regulated clinical backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Experience in emergency and/or critical care, quality improvement, and performance management is preferred.
