Riverside Health Care (Riverside) is a fully accredited multi-site, multi-faceted health care system providing service to the Rainy River District and is the third largest provider in spectacular Northwestern Ontario. The Rainy River District is a remarkable place to call home and encompasses diverse communities across the North West. It is a region defined by resilience, connection and a deep commitment to caring for one another. Riverside has sites across the western portion of the District and serves a catchment area of more than 22,000 residents across 4.7 million acres in Fort Frances, Emo, and Rainy River. A health-care hub that spans the district, Riverside is an integral piece of a growing health landscape in their communities, providing inclusive and accessible service to all residents and visitors.
The Vice President, Infrastructure, Information Services & Chief Financial Officer (VP & CFO) joins Riverside at a pivotal moment of transformation and opportunity. Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer and serving as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, this role offers the rare chance to shape the future of healthcare delivery across a geographically vast and uniquely interconnected region of Northwestern Ontario. As Riverside continues to advance its strategic priorities, modernize its infrastructure and technology platforms, and strengthen its long-term financial sustainability, the VP & CFO will play a critical role in setting direction and driving execution. Leading an integrated portfolio spanning finance, infrastructure, information services, capital planning, procurement, business intelligence, and support services, the successful candidate will help position Riverside to meet the evolving needs of patients, residents, staff, physicians, and communities across the Rainy River District while guiding the organization through a period of significant organizational and system transformation. Beyond operational leadership, this executive will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board, a champion for innovation and modernization, and a key advocate for Riverside with Ontario Health, the Ministry of Health, municipal, regional, and provincial partners. They will strengthen strategic partnerships, advocate for Riverside within Ontario's evolving healthcare system, and lead transformational initiatives that position the organization for long-term success.
The ideal candidate is an authentic, collaborative, and values-driven executive who inspires confidence through their leadership, judgement, and integrity. While bringing strong financial expertise, they are first and foremost an enterprise leader who excels at building relationships, developing high-performing teams, and guiding organizations through complexity and change. More than a technical finance expert, they understand how people, strategy, financial stewardship, infrastructure, and innovation come together to strengthen healthcare delivery and organizational performance. A confident and engaging communicator, the successful candidate will bring the credibility to influence at the executive, Board, and government levels, while remaining approachable, visible, and connected to frontline realities. They are equally comfortable setting strategic direction and empowering others to deliver, creating an environment where innovation, accountability, and collaboration can flourish.
The successful candidate will be politically astute and comfortable operating within Ontario's evolving healthcare landscape, bringing the ability to navigate changing funding models, build constructive relationships with Ontario Health and the Ministry of Health, and position Riverside as a trusted regional partner. They recognize the importance of technology, analytics, and evidence-informed decision making as enablers of organizational performance and future growth. Above all, this leader will be recognized for their integrity, humility, visibility, and ability to earn trust. They are an engaging people leader who develops others, fosters collaboration, and creates a culture of accountability, partnership, and continuous improvement. Resilient, adaptable, and solutions-oriented, they will embrace the unique opportunities and complexities of rural healthcare and be energized by the opportunity to help shape Riverside's future alongside a new CEO and an evolving executive leadership team.
